Fiberline Engineer - Covington, VA104 East Riverside StCovington, Virginia, 24426-1238United States The opportunity The Process Engineer-Fiberline role provides support to the Fiberline Supervision Staff and Maintenance. Ensures continuity of the operation of the Fiberline processes while achieving department objectives. The Process Engineer is responsible for daily operation of Fiberline Processes, including but not limited to; Safe operation of processes, operation stability and reliability, process improvements, engagement of hourly personnel, meeting quality standards, understanding and identifying process limitations and presenting solutions. The Process Engineer- Fiberline position will have primary responsibilities in the Bleached Pulp Mill/R8 Chlorine Dioxide Generating Plant, secondary responsibilities in the Waste Water Treatment Plant and as needed responsibilities in the Unbleached Pulp Mill and Woodyard. How you will impact WestRock ? Supports and participates in all aspects of safety, including adhering to all safety procedures and maintaining a safety conscious environment. ? Monitors process, ensuring repeatable, acceptable results. Identifies potential issues in process and develops plans resolve said issues.? Ability to gather and interpret data, using data to accurately predict process issues and resolve. ? Identify potential limitations in process and present plans on resolution. ? Ability to work with Operations Supervisor, Maintenance, Safety, Fiberline Supervision, etc., in a cooperative manner ensuring positive TEAM atmosphere.? Support and foster safety and environmental compliance.? Night call and weekend Fiberline Supervision duties as assigned. What you need to succeed ? Engineering Degree in related science, preferably chemical / pulp and paper.? Experience in Pulp and Paper industry, minimum of 2+ years? experience in an industrial / union setting. ? Knowledge of Bleached Pulp Mill equipment including; Coru-Dek Pulp Washers, DD Pulp Washers, Metso Press, hydraulics and associated equipment, pumps (centrifugal & positive displacement), Bleaching controls and associated instrumentation. Some knowledge of waste water treatment including; Clarifiers, de-watering presses, rotary screen thickeners, blowers (centrifugal and rotary lobe) a plus? Supervisory experience of personnel in an industrial setting.? Ability to obtain Virginia Waste Water Operator Licensure in anticipation of future advancement.? Computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications and graphics to store, organize and analyze department operational data.? Lean Six Sigma Methodology (training provided) to improve business processes.? Ability to gather data through physical sampling or Mill?s data historian and DCS systems.? Ability to perform calculations, analyze results, and provide recommendations.? Ability to plan, schedule, and organize tasks to meet deadlines.? Interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.? Work well in a team environment.? Exercise independent and discretionary judgment.? The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
